Toyota to double hybrid line “soon after 2010″
By MB-BigB | June 14, 2006
According to Reuters, Toyota plans to sell 1 million hybrids annually soon after 2010. They plan to do this by doubling the number of hybrids in its lineup, and by including hybrid tech in other powertrains, such as diesels.
In the meantime, the other manufacturers (DaimlerChrysler, Honda, and Nissan) are pushing diesel as the way to go, since they’re cheaper to make and get 20-30% better gas mileage than gasoline cars.
