From Terrapass - Wind Energy in the Developing World
By MB-BigB | October 21, 2006
A couple of weeks ago the good folks at Terrapass talked about a wind power turbine manufacturer in India that is rapidly catching up to GE and other European companies. This company - Suzlon - is the 5th largest wind power manufacture in the world in terms of installed megawatt capacity. The company was started 11 years ago by a group of brothers who ran a textile business. They were fed up with the unreliable Indian power system, so they decided to do something about it.
