By MB-BigB | November 3, 2006
In a joint study conducted by the University of Tokyo and the Tokyo Electric Power Co, researchers have concluded that an offshore wind power plant could produce up to 10% of Japan’s electricity needs. The plan, which is scheduled to be announced at a symposium on Nov 22nd, calls for 12,000 wind generators with output of 2,400 kilowatt each to be placed on an offshore floating station near the Kanto region of eastern Japan.
