Mazda Developing a Rotary Hydrogen/Gasoline/Electric Hybrid

Mazda is in the process of developing a new rotary engine that can run on either hydrogen or gasoline and is also linked to an electric motor for front-wheel drive. Mazda is claiming that rotary engines (for which they ware will known) are suited to hydrogen because in normal engines, hydrogen can cause pre-ignition due to their higher operationg temperatures.
Mazda is about to rollout their own version of the Ford Escape Hybrid, to be called the Mazda Tribute.
