GreenOptionsBlog: Orbs of Power! Solar Cells Go Spherical!
By MB-BigB | March 10, 2007
A Japanese company has developed a spherical solar cell that captures light from any direction. Since the cells can use both direct and indirect (reflected) light, the cells are obtaining an efficiency rating of about 20%, which is higher than flat non-concentrating solar cells.
Head on over to GreenOptions to read more details and see a picture of the solar cell, and when your done there you can go to WorldChanging to read an interview with one of the inventors of the sperical solar cell.
