Brookhaven nanomaterials center tackles energy research

By MB-BigB | May 22, 2007

From EETimes: A new Center for Functional Nanomaterials at the Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, NY was dedicated on Monday May 21. The Center “will help advance the effort to achieve US energy independence,” by focusing on three primary disciplines: electronic materials such as those with optoelectronic properties, catalysis (the study of catalyst behavior), and “bio-inspired” processes such as photosynthesis.

The Brookhaven facility is the last of five facilities recently funded by the US Department of Energy’s Office of Science to develop nanoscale materials to alleviate US dependence on fossil fuels.
