PA Governor Ed Rendell says largest solar power facility in eastern US will be built in Bucks County

Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell unveiled plans to build a new solar energy power plant that will be the fourth largest facility of its kind in the US and th largest east of Arizona. The plant, which will be built by EPURON LLC, a subsidiary of the world’s largest solar intergration company Conergy AG, will consist of more than 16,500 solar panels on a 16.5 acre site adjacent to Waste Management’s GROWS landfill.

When completed in April 2008, the plant will produce about 3,700 megawatt hours of power.
