AutoblogGreen - Indian carmaker Mahindra to offer diesel-hybrid pickup/SUV in US in 2010
By MB-BigB | February 13, 2008
According to AutoblogGreen, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Indian carmaker plans to offer a diesel hybrid pickup truck in the US in 2010. If Mahindra does make that date, they will probably be the first production diesel hybrid pickup / SUV in the US. While there are some diesel hybrid buses out there, this will be the first light duty vehicle to have a diesel-hybrid combination.
The diesel only version of the truck, which may carry the name “Appalachian” is expected to get about 30-35 mpg, while the hybrid version will cost a few thousand more and will get better mileage. Mileage figures for the hybrid hven’t been announced yet.
