Eko Vehicles, a well known Bengladore based company that has been making electric scooters for years, is working with U.S. based Emerging Technologies, Inc, and coming out with a hybrid motorcycle aimed at the mass market in India.   While its hardly a powerhouse (it’s top speed is about 40 mph), its rated to get 280 mpg (120 km/liter) and will cost under $900.

The ET-120 hybrid is due to come out in May of 2010 and will run on a 70 cc gasoline engine combined with an electric motor.   According to the company, their motorcycle will have the equivalent power and torque of a 120 cc gas powered engine with just one third of the emissions, and will also carry a five year warranty.
