Toyota planning Prius Wagon/SUV in 2010

Looks like Toyota wants to expand its Prius hybrid family.   While its not official, Toyota has been dropping hints that it is planning to sell Prius Wagons and SUV type vehicles in late 2010.     The reports also indicate that the new Prius will be Toyota’s first car to use a lithium-ion battery pack, replacing the nickel-metal hydride batteries that the current Prius uses.    Not many other details are out – some pictures of the Hybrid X concept car done up as a station wagon, along with a possible starting price of around $22,000, which is right around the price of the current Prius, and seems to indicate that Toyota is going after a different market with its new hybrid wagons and SUV, rather than taking sales away from its current model.
