Cheaper hydrogen – Korean researchers find a way
By MB-BigB | October 21, 2008
Researchers at Korea’s S&P Energy Research Institute have come up with a cheaper way to manufacture hydrogen, Gizmodo reports. The current electrolysis process takes about 4 to 4.5 kWh to produce one cubic meter of hydrogen gas, but the method that the Korean researchers came up with takes just 0.1 kWh to produce the same amount of hydrogen. If this process is scalable, then this is good news for fuel cell technology and the future of hydrogen fueled cars.
