First Solar Swings to Profit as Sales Soar

First Solar on Wednesday reported a profit as sales in the quarter ending December 21 increased to $52.7 million or an increase of 287.5% over the year ago quarter. The company continues to try to boost production – they are expanding one plant in Ohio and building a new manufacturing plant in Germany. First Solar also announced that they will be supplying solar modules for a 40 megawatt solar power plant that will be built in Germany by juwi solar GmbH.
