Going green with Bob’s Big Boy

They don’t have any Bob’s Big Boy’s in my neck of the woods, but over the years, I’ve seen a few while on travel.  For those of you who don’t know, Bob’s Big Boy is an old time hamburger joint that’s been around for 60 years.   And this year, they celebrated their birthday by going green.    At the Bob’s Big Boy in Burbank California, built in 1949 and considered a state historical landmark, they added a 39 kilowatt solar system that doubles as a carport.   The new system, which consists of 132 solar panels, produces up to 20 percent of the restaurant’s electrical needs.   Which is substantial….they serve up about 1,800 of their double-decker Bob’s Big Boy Burgers every day.
