Wave Power – SyncWave Energy Inc. cuts cost of Ocean Wave Energy

By MB-BigB | November 8, 2006

In a press release published today, SyncWave Energy claims that it has developed something called the SyncWave Power Resonator, a “radically new approach to capturing the energy in Ocean Waves with frequency based technology. SyncWave is a free-floating, self-reacting point-absorber system that is expected to dramatically improve the economics of wave energy.” They go on to say that the SyncWave Power Resonator could generate electricity that could sell for as low as $.05/kWh. They’re currently working on a $15 million wave power demonstration project off the coast of British Columbia, Canada.
