DoD concludes that wind turbines do not pose a threat to military radar

The Department of Defense is reviewing wind power farms on a case by case basis to see if they interfere with military radar. According to this piece in Watthead.com, which quotes from Greenwire, DoD has found that none of the 730 wind power projects they’ve reviewed so far present an “unacceptable impact”. 540 of the projects were determined to not be within the radar line of sight, and the remaining 190, while within the line of sight of the military radar, don’t impact the operation of the long range air defense and homeland security radars.

A number of projects that had been stalled are now moving ahead.
