NY State Wind Farm Up and Running
By MB-BigB | September 27, 2006
News 10 Now in Syracuse NY is reporting about the start up of a wind power farm in Lewis County. It’s been in the making for seven years, but now 140 wind turbines are generating electricity for New York State. By the end of October 55 more wind turbines are expected to come online, which will make this wind farm the largest east of the Mississippi River.
“You know this has been a big investment and certainly is going to produce a lot of power, lot of clean power. Basically, one household out of 50 in New York State will get their electricity from this wind farm, believe it or not,” said Bill Moore, PPM Energy Director of Development.
